The Hunting Birds come to town

So I’ve been delving into The Hunting Birds sound and I must say I’m Impressed. They throw down a super cool groove, which is refreshing for a band that breathes in indie folk influences and exhales fluid rock. Their track Burn This House Down topped the Triple J Unearthed roots chart for five weeks earning the band airtime. And its easy to see why with lush vocal lines delivered by dual vocalists Kendra Fewster and Connor Minervini intertwining throughout the track creating a fantastic contrast. Further adding to the songs allure is a gorgeous guitar tone that leads the way through the verses. Honestly I don’t need to say much more, if you’d love to catch an act who have supported The Lumineers and  Xavier Rudd also performed at Falls Festival in 2017 make your way down to Travellers Inn Central on Saturday July 14th. The gig will take place in the central room of the Travs which was previously a dedicated restaurant. I’m looking forward to spending a little time in there next week to make the space look the part, and the sound is certain to be on point. Local lads Campbell Garratt and Dj Jackson Juice will round out the line-up in what promises to be a golden night of tunes. Entry is $10 at the door and music kick off from 8pm. Look forward to seeing you there.

Club 75 at The Cannery on Saturday June 30th was an absolute cracker of an evening. Fantastic to try a out a new format. The Cannery Arts Centre is truly a diverse venue with so much to offer the community across all artistic mediums. Massive thanks to all the Cannery volunteers who got the gig off the ground and put the time in to make the event a resounding success. Thanks also to the musicians, you played so well and it is an absolute pleasure to work with you all. Now that we have established Club 75 as a successful format to deliver intimate evening as the Cannery rest assured that round two lies just around the corner. Currently I have the next six months of the year lying on my desk (amongst a general disarray of stationary) and I must say it’s looking fairly swell. Thanks for tuning in.
